Hi everyone!

Where do I start? I guess I should start from the beginning.

moniqueBefore I had any thought of making my first hair mix, I was infatuated with combining odds things together or conducting experiments, only to see what the result would be. I can remember my dad buying me a book filled with science experiments. I guess my parents wanted my experiments to have a little more structure. It worked. Eventually, my mom bought me a scientific kit (microscope included); understand nothing was off limits once I got the kit. Lol

Fast forward several years, I attended Clayton State University (CSU) and I majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Did you see that coming? My favorite course was anything lab, i.e. biology, chemistry, anatomy, physics, and it didn’t matter as long as it was a lab class. Lol I guess it also made sense that I worked as a student laboratory technician in the biology and chemistry labs while I attended CSU.

While at CSU I never thought I would chop all of my hair off and go natural. I used to tell my friends I am staying with team creamy crack. When asked why I did not want to go natural I would tell people I would not look right with short hair or natural hair. How wrong was I? I was so wrong, I look awesome, and so does my hair. But I have to say it has been an interesting journey, but I love every twist and turn. It has been a learning experience, I remember when I first went natural listening to everyone tell me what to do to my hair and how to treat it. I learned a lot of useful tricks, but the most important thing I learned was to listen to what my hair is telling me and pay attention to what likes.

By paying attention to how my hair reacts to things, I learned it loves and craves moisture. So I began to buy products after products to find that one product that would give me the moisture my hair crazed. I couldn’t find it, don’t get me wrong I found some products that came close. I found myself mixing various products together. One day I thought I could make my own product. I started watching Youtube videos to get some idea of what to do. As I watched the videos, I took notes on the herbs people said worked for them. Before I knew it, I had a long list of what seemed like good stuff.

As I learned about a new herb or oil I researched it. I wanted to find out the benefits it had on hair. I needed to make sure they would help my hair and keep it healthy and moisturized. Once I found oils and herbs I liked I thought well I could extract the natural oils from the herb. Oops, there goes the science geek again. But then I thought “girl you are crazy” lol… It would take a lot of time, and I would not get a lot. So I research herb/oil infusion. It was a much better route for me, and it took longer to infuse but I was willing to wait.

As time went on I didn’t tell people I made my own products. Most people found out about my products through casual conversations and being around me when I did my hair. My family and close friends were the first to try my products. They loved it and began to ask consistently for more hair products. It was then when I knew I had some superb products on my hands. But that did not matter because I never intended on selling my products, not that I was against it I just didn’t.

When I went out people would ask me what I used in my hair, and I would tell them I make my own natural products. But because of all of the research I have done over the years I like to think I am a subject matter expert on the topic of what is generally good for the hair. I would give them some suggestions on what to use on their hair to help them fix their hair issues.

After a while of hearing you should bottle up this all natural hair crack and blog/vlog the information you know about hair, I have decided to do just that. I finally decided to start mainstreaming my products and through my website help people find solutions to their hair problems.

Finally, the time has come, and my beautifully fused hair products are available for everyone to enjoy. I know you will love it.
